We believe that every family deserves peace of mind... even in times of uncertainty. Whether facing an emergency, a legal challenge, or sudden separation, being prepared gives families the power to protect one another and make informed decisions.

Below are Family Preparedness Planning resources designed to help immigrant and mixed-status families build safety plans that reflect protection, strength, and dignity.

What Is a Family Preparedness Plan?

A Family Preparedness Plan is a personalized safety plan that helps families prepare for emergencies such as:

  • Immigration enforcement or detention

  • Natural disasters or medical emergencies

  • Unexpected separations or relocations

It includes critical documents, contact information, and step-by-step instructions to help your family stay connected and protected no matter what happens. Below is information provided through the ilrc.
